40' & 45' Min-Till

Featuring large central-fill hoppers, Great Plains Air Drills increase efficiency by covering more acres in a day than a box drill of equal width. Delivering 40' and 45' of working width, the CTA-4000 and CTA-4500 provide high efficiency with minimal cost per acre.

Each of these implements comes equipped with either standard 00 Series openers or 00HD heavy-duty openers. The 00HD option features 15", 4mm-thick disc blades, along with a cast blade separator and full-length seed tube to accurately place seed. 00HD openers feature a 30% stronger spring, providing up to 245 lbs. of penetration force that allows for operation in minimum-till and light no-till conditions. An 18-position press wheel with T-handle depth control ensures accurate seeding depth and closing of the seed trench.

Features May Include:

00 or 00HD Openers

• The Great Plains CTA-4000 and CTA-4500 Air Drills are offered with either 00 or 00HD (shown) offset opener blades. 00 Series openers are 13½" in diameter and offset ¼" to aid in penetration. 00HD Series openers feature 15" blades and a full ½" offset to be more aggressive in tough conditions. They also feature heavy 4mm blades with a special “no-till” bevel to ensure maximum residue cutting and consistent penetration.

Distribution Towers

• Dimpled distribution towers and transition cone divide seed equally for excellent seed distribution across the entire drill.

Hydraulic Down Pressure

• The hydraulic opener down-pressure system maintains even, consistent penetration across the entire width of the implement. Low pivot points improve opener contact with the ground on terraces and field undulations.

Hydraulic Weight Transfer

• Hydraulically transfer weight from the center section of the machine to the wings for even seeding depth across the entire drill.

Integral Configuration

• The integrated cart-to-implement offers exceptional maneuverability when backing into a storage shed or the corners of a field.

Large Capacity on Dual-Bin Carts

• A split-bin design allows easy access when filling either the two 110 bu. steel hoppers or two 175 bu. poly hoppers. Fill one hopper with fertilizer and one with seed, or fill both with seed or both with fertilizer. An auger system will also empty the bins.

Press Wheel Options

• Single press wheel options include 3"x13" double rib, 3"x13" center rib, 4"x12" V-groove, 2"x13" smooth, or 3"x14" peak. Double press wheels include 1"x12" double V or 1.25"x13.5" wedge-style. Availability depends on model and/or row spacing; some styles require a special order.

Uniform Seed Distribution

• A single fan supplies air to a divided manifold where the star-wheel meters drop the seed into the airflow of each tower. The towers use a transition cone to uniformly divide the seed to individual rows. Full-length seed tubes complete the process, delivering seed to the bottom of the trench.

Wheel Track Removal

• CTA implement models have an extra opener mounting position to lower the openers that are directly behind tractor tire tracks, ensuring proper seed placement and depth control.

Optional Weight Packages

• Enhance penetration in harsh conditions. Std on HD models.

Optional Inside Scrapers

• The cutting edge of tungsten carbide will outlast and outwear standard scrapers. Ideal for higher residue, moist conditions. Available on select models.

OPTIONAL SEED FIRMER

• Keeps the seed in the bottom of the trench as it firms it into the soil.

Optional Knock-Down Kit (HD models)

• Combines a scraper and flexible deflector for sticky soil conditions.

Optional Blockage Monitor

• Monitors seed flow for optimum performance.
